PLA IN SHORT:

PLA is the material of choice for most users due to its ease of use, dimensional accuracy and low cost.

PROS

CONS

In 3D printing, there are a multitude of materials, each offering unique properties and challenges. Among these, ABS and P,LA stand out as popular choices, especially for beginners due to their ease of use.

However, as you delve deeper into the world of additive manufacturing, understanding the different characteristics of materials becomes crucial.

Why do many choose to print with PLA?

Does not require a heated stand.

It's the filament of choice May many enthusiasts 3D printing, because it can be printed the low temperature and does not require a heated substrate.

Cheap and easy to print.

PL.A is a great first material to learn about 3D printing because it is easy to print, very inexpensive and creates parts that can be used for a wide variety of applications. It is also one of the most environmentally friendly filaments on the market today.

It is biodegradable.

Made from crops such as corn and sugar cane, it is renewable and, most importantly, biodegradable. As a bonus, this also allows the plastic to give off a sweet flavor during printing.

Low price.

Support filaments for PLA.

A critical aspect to consider in 3D printing is the use of dissolvable support materials. When printing complex geometries or intricate designs, support structures are often needed to prevent them from falling or sagging during the printing process. Dissolvable supports provide a solution to this problem by allowing easy removal without the need for manual post-processing.

To ensure optimum print quality, it is essential to match the primary print material with a compatible dissolvable substrate.

Two common combinations include PL.A with PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) and ABS with HIPS (high impact polystyrene)

PL.A and PVA form a Pair good, PVA dissolves in warm water, leaving behind clean, smooth surfaces.
